Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 26, 2026
1. What this is
This Privacy Policy explains what information Pickleball King (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the app, what we do with it, and what choices you have. We’re a community pickleball platform, not an advertising company. We collect the minimum needed to make the game work.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Account information
When you create an account we store your email address, a chosen username, display name, and (optionally) an avatar URL, bio, title, and home court. You can edit or remove most of this any time at /profile/edit.
2.2 Gameplay data
We store the matches you log, who you played, scores, the courts where matches happened, verifications, your guild membership, and any challenges or battles you participate in. This is the core of the status game; without it the app does not function.
2.3 Location data
We use your device’s GPS only when you explicitly tap “Check in” at a court or “Use my current location” when adding a court. We do not run background location tracking. Check-in coordinates are stored to verify you were physically near the court.
2.4 Technical data
Our backend (Supabase) and hosting provider (Netlify) automatically log standard request data (IP, user agent, timestamps) for security and uptime. These logs are retained per provider defaults.
3. How we use it
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To compute your rank, stats, achievements, and guild influence.
- To show other players who is on which guild and who rules which court.
- To generate public battle pages and shareable posters from challenges you participate in.
- To send transactional notifications about matches, challenges, and unlocks.
We do not sell your data. We do not run ad targeting on you.
4. What’s public
The app is a social status game. The following information is public to other players: your username, display name, avatar, bio, title, guild, level, match history, achievements, and any battle you take part in (including the auto-generated battle posters and result recaps).
Your email and authentication details are never public.
5. Service providers
- Supabase — auth, database, file storage.
- Netlify — hosting and serverless functions.
- OpenStreetMap — map tiles for the court map.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.
6. Your rights
You can:
- Edit your profile at any time.
- Leave a guild at any time.
- Request a copy of your data, or full account deletion, by emailing hello@kingofthekitchen.app.
Deleting your account removes your profile, matches, and personal data. Aggregated, anonymized stats may remain (e.g. “42 matches were played at this court this week”).
7. Security
Passwords are stored as hashes by Supabase. All traffic is HTTPS. Database tables enforce row-level security so players can only edit their own data. We make a reasonable effort to keep the app secure but cannot guarantee against every threat — please report vulnerabilities to hello@kingofthekitchen.app.
8. Children
The app is intended for players age 13 and up. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
9. Changes
We’ll update this page when policies change. Material changes will be announced in-app.
10. Contact
